Rain was the first tune we wrote together as a band back in 2012 or so. Valentine started out with the lyrics, which in usual fashion I then mangled beyond recognition (just kidding), built the chord progression and melody, and added a chorus. We have taken this song off the shelf from time to time over the years and it has always been a great feeling, like bumping into a long lost friend who just moved back in the area. A few weeks ago, we brought Pat Ninni on board to add a blend of keyboard and vocals to the ensemble. In our third session, on June 7, 2018, we recorded this take of Rain. I liked it a lot.
